Th17 biology
Our lab helped define the Th17 lineage. We continue to map how these cells develop, how they defend mucosal barriers, and how they drive inflammation when control is lost.
The Weaver Lab studies the development and function of CD4 T cells: how they orchestrate adaptive immunity in host defense, and how they become dysregulated in immune-mediated disease of the intestine and in colorectal cancer.

Our lab helped define the Th17 lineage. We continue to map how these cells develop, how they defend mucosal barriers, and how they drive inflammation when control is lost.
We study how effector and regulatory CD4 T cells keep the intestine in balance, and how nuclear receptors and the microbiota tune that balance.
From inflammatory bowel disease to colorectal cancer and late-onset neonatal sepsis, we ask how T-cell programs go wrong and how they might be redirected.
Interactive
Eighty thousand cells from the intestine of a mouse responding to infection, sampled from an atlas of over half a million and rendered with the lab's own visualization engine. Slice it by genotype, time point, and tissue compartment, or paint it by the expression of a gene.
